Tampa Bay Millworks Bypass Door Introduction

With the parallel tracks on top for the doors to hang on and the guides on the bottom to prevent dangling, you have a bypass door system.

BYPASS DOOR:
Bypass doors are great to cover a wide openings or odd size openings are no problem. They are meant to overlap so a 59" opening works great for two 30" wide door slabs.

The BYPASS DOOR consists of two or more door slabs and tracking. The great thing about this is you can match door easily.

BYPASS HARDWARE:
Selecting the right track, typically the max door slab would be 36" in most door designs, without having something custom made. There are minimal door slab designs available in 48" widths but I have see bypass closet use them before. So, size is a factor, then weight. Knowing the hardware's weight rating is important. Followed by door thickness, common interior doors are 1-3/8" but a thicker option is 1-3/4" again without going to a custom door.
The image above is a double track, tracks can be sold in singles to make triple or quadruple tracks, as hardware is sold in sets is needed.
